The first explosion to sink the HMNZS Wellington just off Island Bay in Wellington. The HMNZS Wellington (F69) is a Batch 3 Leander Class Frigate and will be used by divers as a divewreck. The divewreck is approximately 600 metres south-east of Taputeranga Island (Island Bay) off Wellington's South Coast.
