Contact Energy's 198 metre chimney is one of the tallest in New Zealand and contains one million bricks, 16,400 tonnes of concrete and 1,200 tonnes of reinforcing steel. It is designed to sway between five and eight cm during 40 to 60 knot winds (Source: Contact Energy website)
