Vodafone X-Air 2006

Vodafone X-Air 2006 was on this weekend in Wellington. There were heaps of events around Boatshed, Michael Fowler Centre, Events Centre, Civic Square and a couple of other locations. The events mainly took place yesterday and today, although heats for some events like Break dancing were held during the week.

For me, the main events were the water jump at the Lagoon, Motocross and of course, the Bikini competition. The entire event was organised quite well with over 100,000 spectators in total (140,000 they say) but I feel that the time table could have been handled a bit better and perhaps spread out over a few more hours or over two weekends perhaps. A lot of events were taking place at the same time in different locations and so, one had to choose which events to attend and which ones to miss. Apart from this, it was a really good weekend with excellent weather. As they say, you can't beat Wellington on a good day!
